"It is difficult to live in the present tense when history is calling out to you.
Up a mountain said to have a history of being given offerings and human sacrifices, a pair of archaeologists venture to see the eruption of a volcano up close but what they find is more extraordinary than they could’ve imagined. As they uncover objects from the past life of the mountain, they must determine how to proceed. “Archaeology is about asking the right questions” – but what happens when the answers aren’t so clear? A new play by Kathy McKean, The Present Tense explores ownership and asks: at what point does a body become an object?" |
